Out of This World Yoga Journey

Hello Again Norwich Yogis!
What a great time we had at the Otis Library! This time our journey took us into space where we flew past our friend the moon and explored some of the stories that are hidden in the stars. On our way back home we saluted the sun and returned to Earth for a relaxing story about the light that lives within all of us.

Here are the poses we did during our SPACE Yoga Journey:

  • SPACE HELMET BREATHING
    SUN STRETCHES
    POSES:
    Blast Off
    Space Shuttle
    Half Moon
    5 Pointed Star
    Warrior 1 & 2  (constellation Orion)
Dog - Down Dog & Up Dog  (constellation Sirus)
    Scorpion (constellation Scorpio)
Twin – Partner Tree (constellation Gemini)
    Crescent Moon
    Return To Earth
    Savasana (Spark in the Dark)

Throughout the year I hope you have the opportunity on a clear night to peek out the window or stand away from the city lights to see if you can identify some constellations like the ones we talked about today. Let your wonderful imagination carry you to far of places and remember that your beautiful breathing will always lead you home.

Please let me know what YOU see in the sky! Be well and keep stretching your mind, body and heart.

Om, Shanti, Shanti, Peace

Namaste,

-Ms. Jen

World Myths at Otis Library

Hello Norwich Yogis!
Thank you so much for letting me come to the Otis Library today. We traveled around the globe to explore some of the world's most popular myths. We talked about what a myth is and imagined our own mythical creature. I can't believe we traveled all around the planet in 45 minutes!

Here are the poses we did today during Your MYTHS AROUND THE WORLD Yoga Journey:

  • Water Bottle Breathing

  • Breath of Fire

  • Sun Stretches

  • Airplane

  • Dragon (England)

  • Warrior 1 & 2 (England - Dragon Slayers)

  • Down Dog (Greece - Cerberus)

  • Snake (Greece - Medusa )

  • Spider (Africa - Anansi)

  • Elephant (India- Ganesh)

  • Crocodile (Australia - Bunyip)

  • Lion (Australia - Bunyip)

  • Volcano (Hawaii - Pele)

  • Savasana (Spark in the Dark)

Everyone went home with a plain paper bag. I invite you to take some time this week to decorate your bag like a mythical creature. Feel free to do one we talked about or create your own. Feel free to post a comment to let me know what creature you created.
Hope to see you again soon.

Om, Shanti, Shanti, Peace

Namaste,

-Ms. Jen

A Magical Stew Journey in Clinton & Deep River

Hello Clinton and Tri-Town Friends, Thank you so much for joining me at the library this week. With wild imaginations at full power we traveled together to a far off land for “Our MAGICAL STEW Yoga Journey.” Along the way we found friends to help our Wizard Warrior save the day by preparing a scrumptious feast for that hungry dragon. I am so glad you shared such wonderful examples of your favorite food. This is a great time of year to make delicious treats and share them with family and friends.

You all did such a great job making our story come to life. Here are the poses we did together:

Stew Pot Breathing Sun Stretches 5 Pointed Start
King
Throne
Wizard Warrior 1 & 2
Crescent Moon
Spider
Butterfly
Turtle
Snake
Magic Cat (cat to cow)
Unicorn
Dragon
Boat
Savasana

I hope that you will practice these poses and will share your yoga expertise with others. Just contact me if you need a reminder of what any of the poses look like or if you think of another friend that you might be a good addition to this journey.
Happy eating, have fun exploring and don't forget to let those imaginations run wild.
Om, shanti, shanti, peace.
Namaste,
Ms. Jen
